It is argued that the presence of Doctors gives an official sanction to the procedures, not only by being present, but by present to prevent what is known to be the possibility of death from water boarding and other "techniques."
For those doctors who have been speaking out, it takes a great deal of courage and strong belief in the human treatment of prisoners, in the face of the Government and the doctors' own Medical Associations.
